Spring Planting Day 2017

We enjoyed Spring Planting Day and getting the Giving Garden ready for the warmer season! We are excited to see the growth this season and being able to provide fresh veggies to the Elba Community Food Bank. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to help weed, rake, and plant. Alabama Power Tree Grant
June 23, 2015

What an exciting day! Trent Dillard from Alabama Power came to officially present us with a check for $1,000 to purchase trees for the next phase of The Giving Garden: Operation Orchard! We can't wait until the weather cools off and we can plant the fruit trees! We have identified a lot off of Smith Avenue that is a FEMA designated lot (on structures can be built on it).

Spring Planting Day

More of the Tunnel House and seven new beds were planted by members of the community including the Elba High School Interact Club, Elba High School Shop Class, Wiregrass Master Gardeners, Elba Rotary Club, Wiregrass RC&D Representative, Restoration154 members, National Security Employees and County Extension Office employees. Thank you ALL for your hard work and dedication! Our new Giving Garden raised bed sponsors are: Rotary of Elba, Elba High School Interact Club, National Security Insurance, "Kindness Matters" (anonymous), The Gilmer Family and Atlanta Garden Design. We have two beds left if you would like to sponsor one.

Tunnel House Work Day
January 27, 2015
The Wiregrass RC&D has graciously donated this tunnel house to The Giving Garden. Representatives from the Wiregrass RC&D along with students from Elba High School were on-site to help spread out dirt for the plants that will soon call this place home.
